The Glue Factory’s Carbon Offset Commitment

The Glue Factory is a project with a purpose and we take environmental responsibility seriously. This is why we’ve partnered with Greenfleet, a leading environmental non-profit organisation and Australia’s most trusted source of biodiverse carbon offsets to take practical climate action. As part of our ongoing environmental commitment the Glue Factory have offset 150 tonnes of carbon with Greenfleet.

There is undeniably an impact of using the ethereum blockchain. Whilst there are challenges in calculation, due to the decentralised nature of blockchain technology, as a starting point we have calculated our project’s emissions through Offsetra’s carbon.fyi calculator.

For the Glue Factory’s Australian co-founders it was important to partner with an Australian organisation, and Greenfleet is Australia’s most respected source of biodiverse carbon offsets.

“At Greenfleet, we are restoring native forests and growing climate hope thanks to the contributions of our amazing supporters, just like The Glue Factory,” said Wayne Wescott, CEO of Greenfleet.

“Year after year, individuals and organisations help Greenfleet plant more biodiverse native forests to capture carbon emissions and it’s their continuous support which makes a tangible and positive difference to the environment,” added Mr Wescott.

Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted over 9.4 million trees across 500 forests in Australia and New Zealand. As they grow, Greenfleet forests absorb carbon emissions, improve soil and water quality, and restore habitat for native wildlife, including many endangered species.
